Pediatric Federation's Vaccine Purchasing Program

The Vaccine Purchasing Program is the most popular service offered by Pediatric Federation. It allows private practices to receive substantial vppsavings every year on vaccine costs. This program has helped Pediatric Federation experience an exponential growth in participants, as doctors tell their colleagues.

The VPP works from two basic concepts. First is that of volume discount, manufacturers regarding our combined volume as one customer. The more people purchasing the more money saved. The second idea is that of cooperation and contractual purchasing. Group purchasing through our contracts allows us to save thousands on vaccines that are manufactured by the pharmaceutical companies with whom we contract.

Since vaccine costs are one of the highest office expenses, our Vaccine Purchasing Program will significantly reduce the cost of running your practice. Our buying volume is enormous and allows us to negotiate directly with vaccine manufacturers, making our cost for vaccines among the lowest in the country. By remaining compliant we are also given priority for limited production vaccines, such as the flu vaccine.

We involve all the participants in Pediatric Federation when we contract with manufactures of vaccine. We believe that participation improves loyalty and compliance. Prior to contract expiration, requests for bids are submitted to manufacturers. Manufacturers regard Pediatric Federation as one customer, and price their products based on our combined volume and our compliance. When bids are received, the Pediatric Federation Advisory Board performs a review and the information is sent to each participating office for their vote on the new contract. Offices and manufacturers are notified of the outcome.

Rules and Regulations

Pediatric Federation LLC is one of the largest groups of private physicians who cooperate voluntarily. The main reason our vaccine program is successful is that everyone follows Pediatric Federation's Rules and Regulations. We have four simple rules:

vpp 1)Order vaccines through Pediatric Federation contracts

We only order vaccines through the contracts set up through Pediatric Federation, with the exception of the infant pneumococcal vacccine (Wyeth will not offer a contract for this sole source vaccine). One might be able to find temporary deals or special pricing on vaccines produced by other pharmaceutical companies, however this will only give you a fraction of the savings that you will accrue being a member of Pediatric Federation. Since we currently contract and purchase through Merck and Sanofi Pasteur their pricing is significantly reduced. Over the course of a year a full time doctor may save tens of thousands of dollars. Our contracts are based on compliance and volume. As compliance is necessary to maintain our contracts, practice purchases are reviewed by our organization on a quarterly basis. Buying off contract hurts the entire group, as it endangers our contract and causes our price to increase.

2) On-time payments

Paying on time keeps our contract in good standing with the companies. There are also extra incentives to pay before the due date.

3) Pricing is strictly confidential

Keeping our pricing confidential is a critical requirement. If you are interested or know someone who is interested... please contact us or fill out an application.

4) Keep Practice information up to date

Pediatric Federation is a large and expanding community. To keep operating costs low, it is mandatory that practice information remains current and accurate. This ensures that important information is distributed in a timely manner and that Pediatric Federation programs run smoothly, with minimal administrative costs.

These rules and regulations are set up to ensure a win-win situation between the pharmaceutical companies and the participants of Pediatric Federation. Each practice is a representative of Pediatric Federation and so the rules are strictly enforced. If your practice is found to be out of compliance you may face removal from the Vaccine Purchasing Program so our overall group pricing does not increase. If you decide your office should use an off contract competing vaccine, please contact us so we can remove you from existing contracts.
