Merck Reminder - Vaqta

By now most offices are aware that Pediatric Vaqta became available for purchase December 1, 2008.  This communication is to remind everyone that they should have resumed purchase of this Merck vaccine by now.   It is part of our contractual committment to purchase this product now that it has returned.  Please remember to switch back to Adult Vaqta once it is available.  It is to our benefit to make these adjustments promptly.  Thank you.

2009 Button Up Winter Savings Promotion Extended!

We understand that it has been a busy new year and many of you were not able to take advantage of a recent promotional opportunity.  In response to your requests, Sanofi Pasteur has announced the extension of the Button Up Winter Savings Promotion through February 13, 2009.  This means the new 2009 list and contract prices that were planned to take effect on February 2 will be delayed and now take effect on February 13.  These extensions will give you more time to take advantage of opportunities to prepare for the year ahead by maximizing pediatric, adolescent, and adult vaccine purchases.

The Button Up Winter Savings Promotion has several key benefits:
•    Members who place orders now through February 13, 2009 for immediate shipment will lock in 2008 pricing
•    Eligible products on the invoice will receive 90-days dating
•    For Adacel® vaccine only, members will receive an additional 3% discount from the 2008 pricing and 120-days dating
•    The vaccines eligible for the promotion are: ActHIB®, DAPTACEL®, Pentacel®, Tripedia®, IPOL®, Menactra®, DECAVAC®, Typhim Vi®, and Adacel®.

Remember, this is a great incentive for you above and beyond VaxMax™ savings, 1% online savings, 2% prompt-pay discount, and contract savings (if applicable), and its savings with 2008 pricing!
All of these opportunities to save help the bottom line in our offices.

Reminder - Merck Compliance

Just a brief reminder as new products have been approved by the FDA.  Our Merck contract is based on compliance as well as volume.  We are currently allowed to purchase Havrix (GSK-HepA) as Merck is unable to supply Vaqta.  As other competing products become available (rotavirus - GSK), I would like to remind everyone that we can not purchase an alternate rotavirus vaccine and remain compliant.  Merck pricing would increase for all of us.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me [Kathy] directly, or use our contact us form
Thank you.
